So Many Changes....
So, I realize that I have neglected my blog lately. So many things have been going on. The restaurant is no more! (ding dong the wicked witch is dead!!) And though I miss the money, I got lucky and had the nursery job already (and I'm doing 5 days a week there now, bout 30 hrs) AND it all went down the week of magfest, which is profitable for me. I'm still trying to get used to having to be somewhere at 9am every morning. I know, woe is me, most of you guys have to be at work at 8am, but that's NEVER been my schedule, plus magfest last wknd got my sleep schedule allllll kinds of wacked out. Magfest was awesome, lots of great music and family. Magfest and Springfest truly are my family reunions. This year was a little strange because my #1 babysitter for while I'm at the box office from midnight til 8am, and my nominal boss, J.C. wasn't there, because of SERIOUS illness, so the whole staff missed him a lot, but none more than me....the very first time I ever worked the overnight shift, years ago, the first time I met JC, he serenaded me on the fest radio (he's my boss per se, my go to person for weird questions and situations, or god help them if I have to call him for them, assholes, so when he would go to sleep for the evening, he called me on the fest radio with a goodnight song.....and caught hell from the security boys lol, and the next day when I met my other boss, his wife Lori, she wanted to know who he'd been serenading) JC and Lori are a big part of my heart, and even tho Lori got to come for a night or two, it just wasn't the same without JC. The fest itself was wonderful though....The Duhks, The Lee Boys, Sam Bush, Peter Rowan, Inca Maya, Scramble Campbell.....
if you DONT know about Scramble, go to www.scramblecampbell.com He is AMAZING...he's an artist, and he paints the band from the stage while they are playing...his paintings are full body art, and he's getting to be fairly well known....there's lots of his stuff all over downtown Orlando, where he's from...and that little eyeball monster guy on monsters inc (the kids' movie) is a straight up RIP OFF of one of scramble's earliest paintings.....anyway, check him out. Somewhere I've got pics of Scramble doing a painting of Leftover Salmon at their first show after their banjo player had passed away, from blank canvas to finished....AMAZING artist!!
And now, I've rambled and gotten off topic, so I'll stop for now and have a hot cocoa with a slug of peppermint schnapps in it while i watch last night's Dexter before bed.
PS....is it time for season five of lost yet???????????????
